One of PBJ's 10 Landmark Projects for 2024
The TimberView Apartments mark a forward-thinking endeavor in a section ofthe city that needs it. Specifically, the project “will be the tallest mass timberresidence in the state of Oregon,” Curtis Rystadt, whose company 3D Holding developed TimberView, told KGW, a PBJ news partner. The benefits to traditional construction have added up for mass timber: Concrete and steel require more heat to produce. And honing those materials also emits lots of carbon dioxide, which wreaks havoc on the climate. Wood is a far more renewable materials. The project is also an affordable effort, limited to residents who make 60% or less of the area’s median income (which, last year, was just under $50,000). The rents range between $1,210, for a studio, and $1,796, for a three-bedroom two-bathroom unit across 1,019 square feet. Along with 3D, the key TimberView players are Access Architecture, C & J Property Development and Truebeck Construction. Read the full article here.
